Strange Cravings

Alright, Just wanted to voice my opinion that I believe the so called "strange cravings" that some people experienced such as Kuro5hin described are simply the body having more voice in what is going on with your body. I for instance have an extraordinary craving for fruits vegetables and jogging. I'm pretty certain that this has little to do with some chemicals or problems I am having due to my sleeping schedual but because my subconscious is I guess you could say closer and more available to offer advice as to what it is that I need.
Because polyphasic sleeping can be considered an extreme that the body is living on, the body also takes measures to keep you healthy in this state. For instance I don't like eating heavy foods or those with oil or anything of the like after a day of polyphasing those things make me sick. I don't know and can't really say that it has anything to do with anything else, but I believe I am leading a much healthier lifestyle as a result of the sleeping schedual. I feel fine right now bright and awake. in fact i'll go get an apple :D lol

Is polyphasic sleep for you?

Personally the reason I switched over to a polyphasic sleeping pattern is because I had problems with my ordinary sleeping pattern. For instance I would be drowsy all day and walk like a zombie everywhere and everyone thought I was on drugs or soemthing because I was lacking sleeping and sleeping so irregularly. I would oversleep on weekends and get headaches because of it. In fact I used to get a lot of headaches in general. It seems to have improved now that I have switched over to a more regular sleeping pattern.

If you have problems with a monophasic sleeping pattern I would Definatly suggest a polyphasic sleeping schedual. Why suffer trying to fit in all the things you wish to do and get the sleep you need.

"Can't Fit it into my schedual!"

Bull Shit! You can Always fit polyphasic sleep into your schedual. If you go to school and have a lunch as most people do then you can safely nap at lunch and simply move your schedual around to account for it. If you have say large intervals of time in between. you must note that you can have naps that are only 5 minutes in length and if there is a place where that is possible you can take advantage of it. Polyphasic sleep allows for you to have a 5 hour break between naps before your get completly exhausted. so you can take a nap before and after to make up for it. There is no excuse to say that you "can not fit it into your schedual"

I feel that it is horrible what all these people are using as an excuse not to polyphase "unforseen circumstances" really? and with a mere 16 hours of waking they can deal with these "unforseen circumstances" I am certain that if required you can talk over your habits with the boss or a teacher and arrangments can be made to allow for your sleep schedual.

The only thing that is extremly important about polyphasic sleep is that you make it regular. do not shift your schedual around. even 5 minutes can be bad. while still take the naps as was mentioned by the guy on everything2 you need to make up for lost or moved naps by sleeping at least two regularly afterwards.

I read somewhere that some people who had tried the system experienced problems after about 2 months of this schedual though many have found no ill effects as long as they follow the schedual that really is the essential point here.

Having a regular sleeping schedual is considered a cancer preventative. it really is essential

Slowly. but surely?

Can't really say. Today Or rather yesterday i fell asleep at 5:50 woke up at 7:50 felt really tired, but then I took a nap in comp sci and felt great. I went through all my naps and they were more decorational. I have informed anyone to whom it may concern about my sleeping pattern so they know not to distrub me.

imagine:
"Yo man, I would really appreciate it if you didn't disturb me for the next few minutes or so , I only sleep about 2 hours a day, for twenty minute intervals every four ours. I would be quite grateful if you could detach yourself from me for at least the next 20 minutes"

just about everyone is so shocked they just nod and lower their voices and all that, quite amusing.

at lunch my sleep was pretty pointless, when i went home my 4 o'clock nap was also pretty mundane got perhaps to level 3. at work it was just a light nap though it was very refreshing and got me through till 12 quite well. my 12 o'clock nap was astounding very nice, short however, I have decided to make my night naps half an hour in length, or at least to set my alarm clock to half an hour after i intend on going to bed, In this way I wont stress myself out in how I have to fall asleep fast and it will allow a little lee way in how much i can sleep. I REally wouldn't recomend going over half an hour as even after half an hour there is incredible sleep intertia i hear.

Today at the midnight nap i set it for half an hour ahead of when i was supposed to but woke up 10 minutes after i had gone to bed and it felt like hours had passed to me, then i decided it wasn't enough went back to bed and got another ten minutes of sleep in what seemed like seconds, after that i decided i coudln't fall asleep anymore and called my gf and we chatted for some time. btw my gf's site is at http://evilmasha.blogspot.com what a cutie she is :D *hugs and kisses mashinka* (pronounced MA-shin-ka)

So yeah I feel great am eating some tamari almonds, I jogged from the bus stop to my house today when coming back from work because I was so full of energy :D lol
