Update

Haven't posted in a while.

but basically I'm probably headed in the right direction towards polyphasic sleeping.

I don't really keep track of when I go to sleep or get up, but I find that i take several naps throughout the 24 hour day typically between 1-4 hours in length each. Today I took 2 naps, one yesterday when my dad was trying to get me to go to church for easter, and one this morning between
5pi'e30 and 9pi'e30

polyphasic community

one thing that was brought to my attention by Zutroy who holds his blog at http://sleep-eriment.blogspot.com/. Is that there is no polyphasic sleeping community and i think that a polyphasic sleeping communit would be a great thing to have on the internet as this is where a lot of potential polyphasers reside the internet being a twenty-four hour resource and addictive beyond many peoples imagination.

anyways i can easily host a server and site on my server. which i probably will as soon as i get mediawiki running my server/site is at lokiworld.org

older people and sleep

now when i say old people i don't mean seniors. it's just that i hae read some sleep research that found that younger people have more trouble falling asleep though have little trouble staying asleep while older people found it easier to fall asleep yet harder to stay asleep.

now with that fact that older people find it harder to stay asleep we can assume that a polyphasic schedule would work better for older people as it would fit their sleeping patterns better.

well i became extremly irritable and was snapping at people because they were interfering with my naps or actually even just during waking because i was soo tired, that i just had to quit and now i'm sleeping something like 10 hours a day :| oi i get tired at 2130 and feel like i can just fall into bed

Day one Nap 3

Yet again, no luck with REM sleep, a little more perhaps but still no full blast. 12:00

Day One Nap 2

Well this one didn't fare much better then the first nap. I think i started on stage perhaps 3 near the end but was awoken and i was mainly in stage two through the twenty minutes of lieng there in silence with my eyes closed if indeed i was stage two.

btw, first nap was at 4am and now this second one was at 8am

Attempting to try again

i'm gonnna try to polyphase again, and remmber what dreams i do have.
okay well i just had a nap, and i'm pretty sure i didn't REM, it seems as though i just lay down, while i don't remmber twenty minutes passing, it did somehow, and i seemed more or less awake throughout it's entirety. I have music starting to play as soon as i am supposed to wake so that it will wake me. and i think my sleeping body had to realize that the music was playing before i woke up.

oh well. so no dreams for now

Sleep

This thing called sleep,
it's a dodging concept.
perpetual and deep
only after life has passed
but to sleep
is to live long
so i do not understand
why can i not find the will
to sleep
to rest
to let myself relax
for gods sake

i don't think normality
is an option for me
oi,
i will learn to sleep normally perhaps
*sighs* but then there is no proof that insomnia leads to shorter lifespan
in fact, i just read that insomnia does not lead to shorter lifespan
they found that people that slept seven hours lived longer then those with 6 or eight, but insomnia don't count lol :S
anyways i guess polyphasic sleeping wouldn't be terrible for my health either, i'll just take longer naps or some such now that it is summer. i think that will help me to like survive lol. cause this sleep deprivation does make me feel a little crazy at times lol *hugs and kises masha*

probably last

This is probably my last post on this board unless i have some more interesting sleeping methods.

In conclusion, I have decided that polyphasic sleeping is usefull for short term work, and would allow for me and anyone else to finish a project or work on something just about twenty-four hours a day. While still keeping sane. However I do not believe it is good for long term usage or it would have been adopted by a larger majority of indivuals.

The new information that has caused me to come to this conclusion is as follows:

Leanardo Da Vinci for one, did not actually engage in large amounts of polyphasic sleep.

A Report, stated that fruit flies that slept less lived less, - the reason so many experiments are done on fruit flies is because they are cheap and seem to suffer the same effects as mammals from experiments.

So my admonition to you all is that you should polyphase sparingly
